ACTIVITY LEVELS

What are Activity Levels?

Our Activity Level ratings help you choose the right walking tour to suit your physical requirements. Since each walking tour varies in intensity, our five different activity level ratings provide a general overview of the level of fitness, stamina, and overall ability needed to match your expectations. Detailed information regarding specific walking tours should be reviewed carefully to ensure you have chosen a walking tour appropriate to your capabilities.

Level 1: Easy

At a very leisurely pace, this walking tour involves minimal physical activity, such as climbing some stairs, slight elevation, and walking less than a mile. Suitable for travelers with lower mobility.

Level 2: Moderate

This walking tour requires average physical activity with occasional slight inclines. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground at times. Between one and two miles. Shopping, optional walking activities and other similar activities are to be expected as well.

Level 3: Moderate/Active

This walking tour includes moderate physical activity with slightly longer distances, elevated bridges, and uneven walking surfaces (mostly grass). Expect a moderate amount of walking with higher inclines. For the THE WORLDS OF WAILOA RIVER STATE RECREATION AREA TOUR, the three bridges are the tour are moderately challenging.

Level 4: Active

To truly experience the program and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of hiking. Currently, none of our tours meet this requirement, but are in the works.

Level 5:  Challenging

This walking tour is very active, requiring participants to be physically fit to fully enjoy all the experiences. This tour has more strenuous activities which may include transfers over uneven and dusty terrain, high altitudes, or extreme conditions. Unfortunately, this tour is not appropriate for individuals who use either walkers or wheelchairs.

Please Note:

Travel to and from the tour is not factored into our activity level ratings. You should take into account your stamina when traveling long distances. Also, you must be able to handle personal hand luggage independently throughout the itinerary.

In addition to physical fitness, you should have a strong level of preparedness to handle adverse weather and other issues that can be challenging when traveling.
